The Strand was one of 10 selected shopping centres of the future showcased at MAPIC in 2008. This reflects the determination of the team to look for economically, environmentally and socially sustainable solutions reflecting the need of the modern Bulgarian market for modern shopping centres yet are economically, environmentally and socially sustainable.

Strand Lifestyle Centre is being built under the internationally acknowledged standard, BREEAM. BREEAM assessors monitor closely the construction process of the Strand and also take into account ZBS’s market leading blueprint for reducing energy consumption and strategies to maximize visitor comfort through natural means. BREEAM sets the standard for sustainable design and evaluate the impact of buildings on the environment based on internationally recognized set of strict criteria, thus ensuring a fair comparison of similar buildings in the world.
